At Gartree we run a six lesson day. Lessons 1-4 and 6 are 50 minutes long, Lesson 5 is 55 minutes in duration. In certain subjects students may be timetabled for a double 50 minute lesson to allow for more practical elements of learning to be undertaken such as scientific experiments or practical work in Design Technology.

The school building officially opens at 8:20 a.m. Students need to be in their form rooms by 8:30 a.m. at the latest. Registration finishes at 8:45 each day.

 

An outline and the timings of the school day are below:

Period 1: 8:45 – 9:35

Period 2: 9:35 – 10:25

​

Break: 10:25 – 10:45

​

Period 3: 10:45 – 11:35

​

Period 4: 11:35 – 12:25

Lunch: 12:25 – 1:10

​

Period 5: 1:15: – 2:10

Period 6: 2:10 – 3:00
