As you will see when you visit school, our students wear the Gartree High School uniform with pride. The uniform is an important part of our school’s identity and standing within our community. We ask that students wear their uniform correctly at all times.

The uniform consists of:

Key Stage 3 Uniform (Year 7-Year 9)

​

• Formal plain black tailored trousers (these should not be leggings, skin-tight fit, denim or have metal studs, visible patterns/labels/patterns or logos); OR

• A formal, pleated knee-length black skirt or standardised school skirt with logo on; AND

• A white shirt or blouse with a collar – shirts must be tucked in - or a white polo shirt (with a Gartree logo, or plain); AND

• A black jumper with the Gartree Logo (hoodies are banned in school.); AND

• Formal black school shoes (no trainers or shoes with logos / labels on).  No boots are allowed unless there is a medical reason / letter provided; AND

• Socks – plain, black OR tights – plain, black.

• Coats are a good idea in cold weather, but should not be worn around the building.

• Standardised formal shorts with logo on can also be worn (Unisex)

• Plain black or white headscarves may be worn for religious purposes only;

• The only jewellery permitted is a watch, and one pair of ear studs (on stud on each ear). Necklaces, rings and bracelets should be NOT be worn;

• Students should not wear nose piercings or smart watches;

• Students may not wear make-up;

• False nails or false eye lashes are not permitted, and painted nails are not permitted.

• Extreme hairstyles and unnatural hair colours are not acceptable -please check in advance with the school if unsure.

• Students should carry a Gartree “tuff bag” to transport their books and materials, around the school – avoiding bulky rucksacks, handbags and similar.

 

Key stage 4 – Uniform (Years 10 & 11)

• A black, tailored blazer with the Gartree logo – the blazer is compulsory; AND

• A Gartree school tie – the tie is compulsory; AND

• An Optional Gartree V-neck jumper or V-neck plain black jumper, which can be worn with the school blazer (hoodies are banned in school); AND

• Black tailored trousers (these should not be leggings, skin-tight fit, denim or have metal studs, visible patterns/labels/patterns, or logos); OR

• A formal, pleated knee-length black skirt or standardised school skirt with logo on; AND

• A white shirt or blouse, with a collar; AND

• Socks – plain, black OR tights – plain, black.

• Smart black shoes (no trainers or shoes with logos / labels on). No boots are allowed unless there is a medical reason / letter provided.

• Students in KS4 can wear discreet make-up if they choose to do so,
